Alcoholic Identifier

My name is TWTOM and I am a non-drinker. A teetotaler. A human being that happens to lack an off switch once he consumes alcohol.

I love cats... and programming, and investing, and reading, and driving my Mustang in the mountains, and learning, and thinking, and EATING. Boy do I love eating.

I just thought I would be silly today. Day 15. Guess who's still sober and has two thumbs?

Good job on two weeks.

We are so many things, aren't we? Alcoholic is just one word in my "self-vocabulary" and it's a-ok by me because there are tons more.

Keep going.

I don't label myself as an alcoholic. I used to drink, now I don't. I prefer the term Alcohol Use Disorder because it can have such a broad spectrum in severity and duration.

That's the lovely thing about sobriety. As long as you're drinking, you're little more than an alcoholic, it really does define and control you. Without alcohol, you have all kinds of space to be anything you'd like to be.

Day 16 coming to a close. I'm still holding my commitment to one day at a time.
I have not missed an Antabuse dose.
I'm not planning a relapse.
Quite honestly, I love being sober. Yes, I have to battle life head on. Yes, I have to battle my insecurities. But those things just got worse and worse with each swig from the bottle.

Oddly, I am worried about money because of my substantial student loan debt, but when I'm sober, stuff like that can be figured out. I need a job, or I need better investment strategies. Or both

Two things:
1) you need a sugah daddy/momma!

2)When I hear one day at a time I see a possibility that there may be a relapse. That's all your addictedvself needs. Not one day at a time. say never. I do not drink. I do not drink poison.

Congrats dude!

Hi TWTOM! I'm darkling.

Wow. A non-drinker, loves cats, loves eating, knows how to be silly? You pretty much have all the requirements to be my friend!

I'm a One-Day-at-a-Timer, it just helps me to break things into bite-size pieces. Whatever works for you!

Congrats on Day 16! Keep it up!

Now, about these cats . . .
Can I assume that you are owned by a feline?? I live with who keep me as a pet/servant. [Also, they can't open the fridge.]
