2nd AA Meeting
2nd AA Meeting
Going to my second AA meeting this evening. I'm really not in the mood to be around anyone. I have still been feeling down, lately. Lots of emotions and I'm not quite sure what to do with them. It's probably a good time for a meeting. Not sure what to expect out of this meeting. Really, I just feel like I need to be around people who are going through the same thing. Hopefully it helps with everything. Sometimes I just feel so unproductive and useless, but I guess being sober is productive.
We can't be taking on the world straight out of the blocks, it's going to take time and that's not something us addicts are good with, we like quick overnight fixes, but that's not how it works, it's alright to feel out of sorts for a while, things need to adjust, physically, mentally and emotionally.
In the meantime focus on Sobriety, that's the achievement that is happening with each passing day, we don't need to be bouncing out of bed and seizing the day to be making progress, there's plenty of time for all of that later.
Have a good meeting, you're doing great!!

My second meeting went well. Got my 1 month chip. It feels good to be around people who have struggled with the same issues. I am also very grateful for SR. It astounds me that there is so much support out there for someone like me. It helps me get through the day.

You should be proud of yourself for going to a meeting. Many people don't make it that far. Shows you are really serious about getting sober. I feel some days are productive just by being sober. It might not seem like your doing much besides not drinking, but for people like us, that's a big deal, so don't underestimate your success. Getting sober is a tough job. It takes a lot of determination to do that. Every day you wake up sober, you are a winner. Being really productive in life begins with that. Put down the bottle and your options are endless. John
