If there ever was a day to break my sobriety today would be it.

Today our beloved pet died in our arms. I'm sure all you animal lovers know the feeling. It's been a horrible and empty day. I was later outside tonight and it was a beautiful night and my neighbor asked if I wanted a drink. I said no....

I'm very sorry for you loss myluckyday but I'm inspired by your resolve not to let this bring you undone.

Give yourself a little of that unconditional love Jake gave you, and continues to give you through memory.

Grief is sad, It's ok to be sad - you'll be ok.
Drinking is not required.

It is not easy at all. My poor old Sid cat died in my early sobriety. I was pleased that I was sober so I could spot his discomfort, and that I could be calm enough to hold him and stroke him as he passed without being too much of a mess to do it.

Well done for not taking that impulsive first drink. It would not have relieved your sadness. This is no time for a relapse. You have grieving to do. Memories to recall. A heartbreak to nurse. Drinking just delays all those things and stops us healing,

Prayers and condolences.

good for you. Grief and alcohol do not mix. Grief needs to be experienced and expressed- for the raw, real event that it is.

Omg, we love those little guys so much! It sucks to feel all that pain, but grief is a natural part of life. Let the tears come out, feel the pain, it will get better!

I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard to lose a friend. I have had pet chickens for years and one of my last two died from old age about three weeks ago. She was 9+ years old and I loved her very much, so I understand what you are going through. I am happy you didn't drink, you are very strong.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. It is unimaginable to think of life without our beloved animal family members.

Try to focus on today only and the proīs and conīs of the decisions you make.

Kudos on turning down a drink! Hang in there. You seem like a compassionate pet owner that will keep other animals in good care in the future.
