Family day out...

Hi all,

I had a day out with my sister, mum and aunt today...had been arranged for weeks and would ordinarily have been an excuse for me to spend the day drinking...so much so that I had also booked tomorrow off work as well in anticipation that I would need a day's recovery...then sobriety happened. So whilst they sipped cocktails I ordered mocktails (far more refreshing in this heat). Although my sister and aunt are not big drinkers my mum drinks everyday and goes OTT at occassions like this. I made it home safe and sober and wasn't tempted in anyway to drink because I no longer WANT alcohol or anything it brings with it. I had an enjoyable day feeling pleased that I was not in the same condition as my mother. And instead of spending tomorrow in bed hungover over I have an enjoyable day planned with my good friend and sobriety mentor...sobriety is fab 💜

Thanks guys 💜

I just remembered something a little spooky that happened today which I feel was sign that 'something' or 'someone' was with me supporting me...my sister was telling a story about someone she met recently called Nova!!!!! Nova is not my name, my sister doesn't know about my username or this site and I've never heard of anyone having that as a first name (although there obviously are people) and I just smiled to myself and thought 'yep...the universe or whatever is letting me know it has my back today' 😊
