Stench has gone

Day 5 complete and at last that stinking sweating smell has gone from my pores. Don't need half a can of deodorant now...
Still tired and been eating a lot of rubbish but hey 1 day at a time.
I'm pretty tearful also and concentration is bad but I'm hopeful. Anxiety remains when I think of drunken antics but I know this shall lessen. Hope everyone is coping out there xxx

Hang in there, hez. The first few days are the hardest. Your body and brain need to reset.

You are right the anxiety will lessen. The first week is the hardest. I hope you feel better soon. Stay close to SR!

Happy to hear you're past the sweating. Yeah, it's rough. I'd wake up with the sheets soaked. Go shopping and all of a sudden break out in a dripping sweat. Sounds like the worst is over for you. Nice going. John

Hang in and get as much rest as possible. "This too shall pass!"

I've stood in front of rooms sweating so much I sweat right through my shirt.

Anxiety at times was crippling.

Sobriety is so much better.

I love your avatar. Was that deliberate given that the stench has gone?

I used to think that I had to start eating healthily, exercise and so on, but found as you say that it is about baby steps, and kept my focus solely on not picking up a drink no matter what, and even if it meant my being glued to the couch watching crap TV sadly lamenting my fate, it didnt matter, I was sober.

And it really does get better. Really better. I'm less glued to the couch

You are doing awesome.

My drunk buddy sometimes smells sweet like a cake or something...other times like booze.

His appearance is the worst though. His eyes are deeply blood shot and his skin is oily and red.

I don't know how he keeps it up. He is drunk by 7 pm every day.

I do not miss physical addiction.

Thanks.

Hahahaha, that had me laughing out loud.

I'm on day 4 and yesterday that'stench' you mentioned finally went. It's the first time I've had it that bad and so glad that, like with you, I'll never smell it again.

Congratulations on day 5 x

Good job Hez. Drinking will just drag you back down to the bottom of the sea. Keep your eyes forward and move ahead.
