I stumbled upon this website about 4 years ago. I was SO hungover. And so lost. I was a 20-year alcoholic who was drinking 6-12 drinks per day, every day.

I spent a lot of time here in the early days and weeks. And I came here every day for months. And years. At first, I came here for the advice and support that I so desperately needed. Later, I stayed here for the company and for the friendships that I made.

Over the last few months, I got complacent and stopped coming back to SR. Thankfully, I didn't drink. Indeed, I have not had a drink since the very first day that I found SR. This place has been that powerful for me.

Anyway, I'm back. I hope to reconnect with many of you that I have spoken to over the years. And I hope to hear from newcomers that may be struggling like I was when I first found SR.

This is a wonderful place, with really smart, kind, supportive people. And I am glad to be back.

My old man Jack is doing ok, despite just turning 14 in April.

Howdy, least! I am glad to hear that Jack is still with us. Our oldest dog, Fletch, is a yellow lab cross and is (we think) around 14 years old too. His joints are creaky and he is a little deaf, but he is otherwise fine.
