Irony
Oh the irony today....
Signed a contract and put a down payment on a house today...plus it is my19th wedding anniversary
STBXRAH also gave me his budget to show why he can't afford the child support I requested. Which is already less than a judge would say if we went to court.
Grateful that tomorrow will come soon and I am one step closer to being in my own place.

Not sure how ironic it is--sounds to me like a day to celebrate a new chapter in your life.
As for the child support and his inability to "afford" it--chances are pretty good he's not giving up his drinking for the sake of being able to afford to support his children. He'll just have to make cuts to the budget. The court will be happy to figure it out for him.

When it comes to child support, in this state the state sets the amount. No more, no less. When it came to settling up with my XAH, I told him this, and would not budge. Told him if he did not like the amount we could spend thousands more, go to court, and the court will order him to pay that amount, like it or not.
It's for him to figure out how to pay for his children.
