2 day hangover

So after my massive binge (Tuesday - Friday) I have the hangover from hell. Day 2 is worse than Day 1 - am in bed nauseous and dizzy.
I am never ever going to feel like this ever again . Made contact with the ladies I met at AA and will go to a meeting tomorrow . Have also got online support from another website from two other women also on Day 2. I have to decide how to manage hissy fits from my teenage son which are my main trigger - I guess staying calm , breathing deeply and contacting the AA ladies is my plan.
I do not have any more Day 1s or Day 2s in me. I just don't .

i understand.
please use those contacts and get out to meetings when you feel like drinking.
we can't keep doing this to ourselves.
i've finally managed to put a few months together and one of my mantras is, i never have to feel like that again. this spring instead of detoxing from alcohol every few days and suffering memory problems and guilt, i've been planting a garden. you can too work keeps me buys, so do my 3 sons (their father left us), but at night i'm with the ladies at aa and it works. they are very supportive and i am learning how to deal with triggers in healthy ways. i believe you can do this keep coming.

Thank you Tiffany. I have a balcony garden that I love maintaining - it is very satisfying ! And yes I'll keep in touch with my new friends at AA! Xx

You CAN do it.

Don't drink first- things like how to deal with your son come later. Let us know how the meeting goes- perhaps also check out the Class of May thread on here.

Hope you stay with us.

If I don't see this as a lesson to be learned, there is truly something wrong with me !

Ican,

I kindled so long and hard that I had a hangover for a week, then the anxiety and paranoia lasted for months and months.

It gets worse and worse. Folks kill themselves sometimes because the get so ashamed of their situation.

I believe folks generally harm themselves during the black out phase. I can remember....sighing sadly as I realized I just finished over half a bottle of vodka at midnight...i started taking sleeping pills to stop myself from drinking....that was genius....

If you can't quit on you own, please get medical help. Alcoholism is a death spiral.

Thanks.

Me too...ugh...the worst feeling in the world!

Icandothis- Remember this day always! You never have to feel this way again.

Glad you reached out to friends at AA and you came here. The next few days will be rough, but you will get through it. Keep hydrated, eat and rest. Keep posting and read through the advice you've been given here. You CAN do this!

Big hugs!

Sorry you are hurting, but what you described is precisely what helped me get sober. I never wanted to feel that way again, and I didn't know if I'd survive many more. I wish you the best.

I have had days like this where I swear this is so awful, I'm quitting today, never want to feel like this again, etc. bit then after a few weeks or months, I forget not only that is was so awful, but when I on autopilot to drink, I totally forget about the episode!

Write down or record, on your phone?, how you feel, so you can never forget.

Play or read it often. Because if you're like me, the bad memories will fade.

Those sort of "hangovers" are what kept me going back to the ER. I don't know how many times since last August...

They won't treat me anymore. I can't say I blame them. I drink and I'm right there with you. I stay sober and maybe things get better.

I support you. You can do this.

They'll let me lay there in a gurney and offer me a trip to Arapahoe House and make sure I don't have a seizure. They won't make me comfortable.

When my 1 day hangovers turned into 2 and sometimes 3 day hangovers I knew I had to stop.
