First real test
Went to a neighborhood gathering. Omg, first thing as I went in was wine. Everyone was getting it. I said, nope, I'll have a fizzy soda. No challenge, no issues, just proud and happy.
Then they had a boozy dessert -said nope, had some chocolates.
Because....
I Don't DRINK

Yup...I've only had a handful of folks ever care, in a negative way, I was choosing not to drink.
My Dad was one of them. He has since decided to give sobriety a try.
Sobriety is contagious.
