Day two

It was nice waking up without a hangover. After work, instead of going to a bar, I went to the grocery store and bought healthy stuff. Mood is a little off and on, but its better than being drunk.

I'm seriously sick of drinking. I want to be done with it. Now that I've made it home, I'm sure I will make it to day three tomorrow. I have to watch out for day five, that is when I get kind of grumpy/irritable. Trying to exercise and keep my mood up.

The first week is the hardest. Make sure you stay hydrated and eat regularly. Sleep patterns will be off for a while...just don't pick up that drink...think of it as only today. You got this!

Hello everyone.
This is all new to me to try and stay sober. It's been 48 hours since my last drink on Saturday which has been the longest I've went in years. No real DTs just a fever and no appetite. I have been a pretty heavy drinker for about 7 years now as a way to cope with the field of work I do. I was worried about stopping cold turkey but so far I feel pretty good. Anyway I thought just talking on here might help me stay away from the alcohol.
Thanks

thanks, creative thinker ... yes been drinking lots of water, it seems to help me think I am at least drinking something- its weird. I think I might buy a bunch of seltzer water and sip on that or something?

Welcome Lt and Aaron
Hang in there and keep up the good work. :

Lt try to remain hydrated. Get some Gatorade or sport drinks to re balance your electrolytes and rest as much as possible. If you can, try to eat a baked potato, it will help settle your stomach.

You will find a lot of support on SR. You two can do it, we got your back
