A month ! :-)

A month today - I'm really pleased with myself! From 2 bottles a wine to nothing !!

It's been really tough at times I will be honest, emotions all over the place and still are,do I want a drink right now ..yes it's all I can think about straight up truth

I'm not having one though - not today, tomorrow I will battle it again head on

Today I'm going to walk the dog,get a family Pizza and watch a movie and wake up hangover free ! Anyway else's dog fed up with owners new healthy lifestyle ? !

I don't know if anyone else does this but I'm doing a daily selfie and have done since day one ..god I looked truly awful ,not there yet but I can look others in eye without them thinking he looks like a complete drunk

Anyway ,it's just a month - more to come !

I check in here every few hours - don't post so much but reading and understanding I'm not alone is so much help! I wouldn't be a month if it wasn't for SR

Anyway - ramble over, hope everyone has a lovely weekend 🤗

I use the progress option on MyFitnessPal to track visual progress (selfies). It really is amazing to see the difference from Day 1 to now.

Congrats on 30 days...that's huge!

Congrats on the sobriety RainyEngland! Yea, my dog does get less leftovers now that I've cut way back on food. I don't think he's lost any weight though. He just takes the dog food more seriously now.

Congratulations, rainyengland. Well done!

The thought of waking hungover-free still revs my engines. It's the gift of sobriety that keeps on giving!!!!!

I think it is great that you have a plan to combat the desire to drink. Think that is half the battle. You will fell better as rime goes by.

Congratulations, rainy! Just tell yourself everyday, with confidence, that you will go to bed sober that night. It's what I've been doing.

Nice job! A month is huge! Sounds like you do what i do and what many others do and plan out your day. I definately feel like that is key! One thing that definately helps me when i have cravings is to say the serenity prayer or even try to help someone in need if possible. Have a great day!

Rain,

Great post. The dog question cracked me up.

Big Big Congrats!

30 days is a long long time for a drunk to be sober.

Physically, imo....you are clean as a whistle. Mentally...the brain needs its happy sauce.

It took me many many months to stabilize to an acceptable mental level most of the time.

I made it 8 months clean about 20 years ago. It was so easy...i decided I could start again and quit if I needed to....wrong!

This last quit...2 years ago...was hell on earth. I could have easily ended up in the looney bin.

So, that was scary.

I respect and fear booze now. I will never drink again.

Thanks.

Great stuff congratulations

I found my emotional instability really settled down over 6 months. Quite a few things fluctuated over that time sleep, energy- I had very driven thoughts for the first 3 of them
