day 9

Here we go friday is upon me. Since joining sr last week I have made it to day 9. Friday is my major trigger day where my autopilot is in overdrive. I usually get drunk right through to saturday or sunday night without even thinking about it. To top it off one of my drinking friends' parents are on holiday they go this time every year. That usually means I go there for a week of binge drinking have done for the last 8 years. I took steps yesterday and said I wasn't going and made a plan for today including playing tennis and cooking later. If I can get through this weekend it will be a massive step in the right direction for me. Am struggling already with the thought of it though and its only 11am. My brain keeps playing tricks begging me to do what I have always done. I'm just trying to maintain focus on how horrible I felt this time last week after last binge and how much better I feel now. If it wasn't for sr I would have no chance

I stayed on SR pretty much all my waking hours for a while. It got me through those first few weekends.

Stay close - but you're already making some good decisions - you can do this

am good thanks made it through day 10. Am very happy to get though a second Saturday. Had a few strong cravings but used exercise to beat them. Mild cravings I can distract the brain from but strong ones I just get up and go and do something straight away it's working well so far.
