Hello

Hello, I did a search asking google how long cravings for alcohol lasted and found myself here. I went through drug addiction over 30 years ago, drug of choice back then was coke. I was completely sober for roughly 5 years, Then I slowly started drinking, at first everything was good. Now 25 + years later my new drug of choice is beer. This past fri I received my 3rd DWI, my first 2 were back to back 33 years ago. Anyway I'm here and haven't had a beer since May 5.

Rain,

Welcome.

Physical addiction to booze will let us believe anything to keep drinking.

I used to say...I was having a party....everyday. Sobriety is for folks that can't handle their booze.

When I got to the point that if I wasn't drinking I had trouble with my balance, I kept going...blamed it on work.

Eventually, I nearly collapsed several times. I started having panic attacks...while driving. I got scared straight.

I got on the sober wagon.

At 3 months, I was going mad w anxiety and obsessing. Now I crave, but I hate booze. It is a very slow insideous toxin the rots out bodies and minds. Drinking leads to premature death.

Make sense?

It is a long road to hoe, but once we get clean it feels amazing.

Stay clean.
