Gonna have to start again
I started my thread, thought that was it, but I'm drunk again
It's best to be honest, pour out the remainder and start fresh tomorrow
No point in telling lies, it's what the addiction would want
Apologies

Sure that sounds a little harsh but can you really say you are being honest with yourself?
I'm sorry Stewy.
Scotts right tho - this thing's really got you this time.
You're going to have to make some pretty hefty changes in your life.
Starting threads here is a good start - but it's only a start.
You need to use the support here before you drink...not after.
I think you need some face to face support to go with SR.
Waiting for counselling appointments etc is unavoidable but you can't drink in the meantime.
What about AA, SMART or Lifering?
Check out Rational Recovery and AVRT.
I'd even consider rehab at this point.
Scary I know, but you need something to break this cycle - and if you can't break it yourself, and keep it broken, rehab may be the solution that breaks it for you?

Actions speak louder than words harsh but true
It seems to be a small time scale between your last post and this one so the intentions are there (thats good)
Msg here before purchasing the evil booze

Have you considered Antabuse? That is what my Dr. felt was best for me. A sort of "training wheels" to keep you from drinking while you work out a plan for long term sobriety. Certainly it isn't forever but it's an aid initially to get you going in the right direction.

I agree with Scott. Getting drunk, posting about it saying you'll try again tomorrow, to continue to do the same thing over and over will get you nowhere. If you truly want to get sober, you need to get a plan in action.
Call your doc first thing in the morning and get an appointment setup, start going to AA every day, perhaps going into rehab may be a good idea.
Nothing changes if nothing changes,...

I suggest utilizing SR a lot more as part of a plan to stay sober. I come here daily to read and post. It helps me to be a part of this family. Coming here helps me by reinforcing my desire to be sober.

I thought to myself daily that tomorrow I was not going to drink. I said this for well over two years. It was an epic battle with myself and the wine. Finally, I made not drinking the most important situation in my life and got on here to sort my **** out. I could not post here that I was going to quit tomorrow. Tomorrow never ever comes.
The behavior that I changed promptly: I stopped buying alcohol. I made new requirements of myself at night. It was a requirement, and still is, that I eat dinner. I wash off the day with a bath or shower. I drink non alcoholic beverages in the form of Tea, water or this rediscovered Seltzer Water. I log onto SR and I post. I offer a sober Mizzuno to this forum.
Nothing changes if nothing changes. The change is only with you and your decisions. AA, therapy, inpatient, outpatient, friends, family.... find the necessary support and walk with it. You have to be willing to go the extra mile.

Never give up. Have you tried exercising? That has really helped me to be on Day 8 again and feeling pretty well. I also have learned to sit through the pain of distressing emotions until they pass and get better without drinking.

"sit through the pain of distressing emotions until they pass" - is about the simplest and most effective advice.
It is not only good because it's free and can be done by any human anywhere in any situation at any time, in other words self dependent, independent.
It is good because it builds sobriety. Every time this process is done confidence rises. Confidence in self and nature. Not in any other person. Just that which is available to every human.
Every time this process is done there is less of the misery to deal with next time.
So not only confidence increases. The process works. The load gets lighter. And the correct habit grows and intercepts wrong habits earlier.
It is the path.
Add to that exercise, morality and right nutrition and you have a solid base for a good life.
