Wow- no hangover!!

This is the first Saturday in YEARS I've woken up sober! Just last week I woke up, fully clothed on the sofa with the TV blaring out, feeling dirty and disgusted with myself. Next to me was a half drunk glass of wine. I'm happy to say things look a little different this week!
I woke up in my pjs in my bed and I feel refreshed and alive! I have a busy day ahead, and I'm excited to get some jobs done which I've been putting off for months.
I know not everything is rosy, I have some concerns and problems but today they are a lot easier to deal with even from a week ago... I'm feeling grateful for all I have and am focusing on that today.
Wishing everyone here a super weekend. I'll be checking in later tonight xxx

Wheeeeeeee!
That must feel marvelous. If I could get some sleep, I'd be on Day 2 :P. Insomnia is one of my struggles when quitting drinking. Good luck to you!

Feels fantastic, doesn't it!!!!!!!

Spoiler alert: It never gets old. It's the gift of sobriety that keeps on giving and giving and giving.

So happy for you, lexy! Keep reminding yourself of how disgusting it is to wake up in your old life. Even if I'm sore or sick, waking up sober beats the alternative 10 x out of 10.

Thanks all
I have a wedding to go to tomorrow, I'm driving- so I've taken away the temptation to drink. I know the AV will be up to mischief but I've got her figured out already

It is ones of the most amazing feelings in the world to wake up with no hangover and to know you didn't drink the night before.. it's like waking up from a dream where you got drunk and your heart has that sinking feeling, then you realise it was all just a dream.. well done to you..

Your excitement brough a smile to my face. Waking up hangover free is one of my favorite thing in sobriety too LOL.
As far as going to the wedding tomorrow is concerned, make sure you have an exit plan and maybe some sober support.
If things get too tempting, it's ok to take a walk or just leave early. It's your life and your sobriety, nurture it and protect it no matter what it takes

I think it's a great idea to get some sober support... Currently I have you guys but I haven't told anyone else. My mum said to me a few years ago that she thought my drinking was a problem, so I agreed and quit for 4 months. I remember sitting around counting days and not really 'feeling' it. After that I hid my drinking even more, and I've done a pretty good job at it- well apart from the give away puffy face of course (which is going down I'm happy to say).
I have considered telling my mum, and my sister as am pretty close to them both. Today is not the right day to do that, but it's given me some food for thought for sure. Thank you xxx
