A very quick question, if you're in the UK maybe you can help.

I've found a local AlAnon and it's tomorrow, which is a bank holiday in the U.K. Do meetings still run on bank holidays?

Thanks.

I am not in the UK, but our meetings run on every scheduled day here, including all holidays. It is a volunteer group of people. Even in buildings that are closed, someone is there to let us in.

Hi, yes I'm in uk and the group I've recently joined was operating during the Easter Hols so I would assume same for Bank Hols.
I've been to 3 now. good luck!

Hope it goes well for you Casseopia.

I love the British phrases and concepts that are different from the US . . . Bank Holiday. I know it is a bit silly.

Cass,
I work at a church in the states. We have the church open every day of the year for our AA and Alanon meetings. Addiction does not recognize holidays and takes the day off. If anything those holidays are when you need the support the most.

Thank you everyone. It makes sense that meetings would run during holidays.

I'm nervous. Not least of all because I've been having panic attacks while driving since I found out about my husband's secret double life. But I will get there. Deep breaths. Time to stop worrying about what he's doing, what he's done and what he's doing and concentrate on me.

AMEN to this!

Cass, I am in the US, not the UK, but I know that here we have a Central Office for different areas. That info should be listed somewhere on your Alanon site, I would think. The office is where you could call for information about meetings running on holidays if you had questions.
