The shaky hands are back...
I woke up with shaky hands this morning. I had them yesterday too, but today it's much worse, just like in my 24/7 drinking times.
I didn't drink, the shakyness is a side effect from some new meds that I have to take.
But the connection between having shaky hands and fixing that with a drink is still so strong in my head. It doesn't feel like a typical craving where I am in the mood for a drink, thinking about the effects of the taste of it.
Still it's like this thought is on replay going through my brain uncontrolled. 'You have to drink to fix this, you need a drink!'
I know medical advice can't be given on here and I will speak to my doctor about this next week but are there any ideas on how to handle this?
Sorry for being needy but I need some support

I'm on new meds too, Kev. Different effects but annoying, so I sympathise
Sometimes side effects from meds will subside after a few days - it's not comfortable, but usually it's a long way from unbearable (if it's not bearable you should see a Dr ASAP I think)
Any thought a drink might fix this is 100% pure A grade BS.
I got to the point where anything slightly uncomfortable was a clarion call for beer...
We don't need to fix every tiny level of discomfort any more - we can tolerate a lot more than we used to give ourselves credit for
D

You don't need me to tell you that this is your addiction seizing on something, anything to try to find a way to get you to drink.
To me, it sounds like your AV is getting desperate. Try to think of that as a good thing --- it means your addiction is suffering and that you are getting well.
You are doing great.

trying getting something to eat.....some juice for the blood sugars, some protein, some carbs. your body is out of balance and it will take time for that all to settle out. breathe, don't drink, and hang in there.
