It was amazing...

...to wake up SOBER today instead of with a hangover. I woke up on my own and went for a walk while the sun came up.

Fridays are going to be challenging days for me and I try not to think too far ahead to the weekend. All I know is "I don't drink today."

Day two, here we go.

Also, for those others in their first week, I love to Google and read a few recovery quotes daily. Here's one I particularly liked today. I hope it helps some of you along today too.

"The goal is not to become sober. The goal is to love yourself so much that you don't need a drink."

Mornings are the best part of sobriety. I used to stay up late, every night, dreading going to sleep and having to wake up.

Now I'm in bed before 10pm, and often up and outside long before the sunrise. It's fantastic, and it will only get better.

You never have to feel that sick dread of hangover or shame - you can look forward to waking up rested, calm and genuinely at peace. It IS amazing! It just keeps getting better too!

Another week or two and you will see your skin change - healthier, better color.

Looking forward to this. Alcohol and getting slightly dehydrated from it every night has wrecked my skin.
