2nd time around
Hello to all, figured with the help of Suboxone and a mental health specialist I would try something different this time with my recovery. Had sobriety from January 3 2013 to august 23 2016. Relapsed for about 3 months and have been sober with the help of Suboxone since November 14 2016.
Was having some difficulty with my ex girlfriend during the months leading to my relapse. Lost my self worth and turned back to what never judged me. This for me was heroin. No needles for me. Just straws and aluminum foil (smoking and snorting) but I guess that's irrelevant. Anyways I figured I would start up a thread since joining a couple weeks back. I hope to get some positive ideas and reinforcement from a platform I'm familiar with as I've used a ton of car forums in the past and they've been very helpful to me.

Hey Nov, I stopped drinking last November so we got about the same amount of sober time. I was doing ok until about a month ago when the cravings got really bad and I started doubting whether I was a real alcoholic anyway. That's when I joined this site. Takes a lot for me to post because I grew up being taught that you keep your feelings to yourself (maybe that's why there's so many alcoholics in my family!) Anyway, posting here has honestly stopped me from drinking....time after time after time. Whenever I want to drink, I check in here and always read something that first of all distracts me from drinking and secondly reinforces my decision to quit booze for good. Glad you're here. Well done for your sober time. Good luck
