Health in sobriety

I have drank hard for 10years and have now been sober for just shy of 4 months! Never thought I would make it especially because of health problems that were starting to manifest due to my alcoholism. I am proud to report I have lost over 40lbs this year and I ran my first half marathon today 2:h08m and I feel fantastic. My recovery has consisted of a lot of hard work and working out ALOT. But my health has taken a huge priority in my life and I feel great. It has helped alleviate some of my health symptoms. Just thought I would share some of my sobriety success thanks for reading

Wow! Thanks for sharing! And congrats on your half marathon! I trained for one a few years ago and it is no joke. Your story is inspiring!

Awesome job Fatboyanon. You may need to change your handle to skinnyboyanon if you keep this up! Exercise is so incredibly important to recovery. Keep it up!

Congrats!!! A marathon is quite impressive, WTG.

I am been hitting the gym daily, but still worry immensely about my health...to the point, that I have anxiety and panic attacks.

Wow well done, great inspiration. I'm on day 8 and been in the gym almost every day, planning to go tonight. It's my main tool to avoid alcohol.
