Went out to eat last night
My sister is in town, and we went out to eat with my daughter and had pizza and salad. It was delicious, and we had a nice time catching up. The place we went to has a tavern and lots of beer, wine and mixed drinks. I won't lie, the thought of having "a" beer did cross my mind, but I didn't even look at the drinks menu, and just stuck with water and a fresh strawberry lemonade. I swear the food tasted better, and I enjoyed myself more without any alcohol. Afterwards, we took advantage of the nice weather and went to the park for a bit until it got dark.
I'm gonna count this as a "win" for me, as going out to eat isn't something we do very often, and we were in a very trendy area of town full of bars and nightlife. I was reminded of the days when I spent several nights a week going out drinking, that was then, and I don't miss that lifestyle at all. I was happy to crawl into bed sober by 10pm!

Bron,
Agree. Food tastes better. Life is better.
Living w active addicton is the old way.
I used to pre drink, spike water bottles w vodka, and then drink when I got home.
Those hang overs were the worst.
Waking up sober is now the only way to go.
Drinking = unlearned. Sobriety is the norm.
