That voice is back ffs..
"........niggle, niggle, niggle....you'll be alright lad, just a few, no hard stuff, just stick to bitters and ipa's (halves if you need to), your mates are all in the pub now having a laugh, its been a beautifully sunny day, you've done a massive ride today, cycled all over Lancs. today you have, feels like we're back at University, play the sports, hammer the ale and chase the jolly japes, you've got a bit of a glow on from the sun, all showered and changed, looking alright...you never know, there might be a few girls knocking about....go on lad, don't be soft, you've got another ride on at 9.30 in the morning, you'll be alright....all those times we've rolled like that years ago, sports, work or whatever....come on you *****....lets roll"
Ceaseless it is...I've eaten, even anchovies which normally laser the taste buds haven't worked on my anticipation of a decent beer, tried to speak to someone but no one about...tried a shower ......taken a walk...put some music on....tried a bit of self loving.........still there, niggle, niggle, niggle.............just got to hang in for a few hours...8.30 here now....want to be immersed in tiredness and get to bed.....******* Saturday evenings, always the same though this one tonight is a bastard

sometimes when all else failed, I'd get busy, productive - sitting there on the couch or whatever grappling with desire is no good for anyone.

made it over that hump thank ****.......its the first time when the cravings and desire to socialise have been that bad that I've posted or reached out....normally I just struggle a while, then concede and get kettled .......I did call an AA mate too ....your post and other on here got me over it, thanks for that all....(two picnic bars, a flake, half an easter egg and a chunky kit kat helped too...felt sick, completely vapourised thoughts of putting ale on top ...not sure that's in the big book, but its in mine )

Cravings actually don't last that long if you can find something to occupy yourself for a few minutes you will find that it passes quickly. But if you sit and dwell in those thoughts, that's when the cravings last for a while until they get unbearable. The key is finding a way to avoid giving in early on, and you will find that they come less and less with more sober time.
