I ****** up :-(
Hi Zombie. Sometimes it takes us a while to realize it's never going to be fun again, & only brings us misery. Once we know that, it gets easier to say goodbye to it. You can still do this.

Yep a lot of interesting ideas- IME choosing a plan and committing to it completely was the thing for me. Debating options, thinking about "things"... put off my better life for a long time. T didn't have to but that was my choice. Good luck.

Those occasions like a work party or friendly get-togethers really test our resolve to sobriety. I'm sorry you drank, but maybe you can take it as a lesson learned. I have said before that in early sobriety we have to be a bit selfish, meaning we must put ourselves first. Its the only way.
The really good stuff is just ahead.
Stay close. We are here for you.

I've been reading a lot of the bookmarked posts at the top of this forum and reading what people have gone through in their initial days, weeks, etc of sobriety.
I think i can count myself lucky that my detox isn't physically that bad. I don't have dts,the sweats or palpations. It's more mental for me. Where i am, all the off licences are closed for Easter. I always find the first 24hrs mentally exhausting. Last week i was sober for the longest I've been in over a year so although i know i slipped last week, i can see where i went wrong.
Thanks everyone for your help and support x
