Day one again new to this site
I am new to this site. I am on day one. I need extra support apparently as meetings are not enough. I went to a noon meeting yesterday, and on my way to the 5:30pm meeting ended up at the bar. About 7 beers and a few joints later I passed out.
I was trying to do marijuana only, but it keeps leading me back to drinking. I want to be sober more than anything in life.
I woke up this morning called in sick to work, and called my old sponcer crying. I had six months with her, and on my own can't do it. I just stopped calling four months ago when I started drinking again.
I'm 39, and can no longer pretend this is ok.
Drinking and drugs have destroyed my life. I need more than just an hour a day meeting help so I'm here.
Just wanted to say hi.

Welcome to the posting side of SoberRecovery!
I strongly believe that AA and SR combined is the best route to recovery. Read around and post often--it works if you work it!

Welcome, Meisme, to SR. So glad that you have joined us.
You have come to a wonderfully supportive, encouraging and understanding forum. There is always someone here who cares about your sobriety and wants to see you succeed.
There is a great SR thread that speaks to the importance of a plan. I'll link in a minute.

You may also want to consider joining an SR Class where you can interact with other members who are at the same stage of their efforts to achieve sobriety.

Good choice to be here. I'm sure you can sort it out. I had a bit of difficulty. I think for some of us the path takes practice. I rearranged/rewrote part of your post so it made more sense to me. 'I went to a noon meeting and on my way to a 5:30pm meeting I do marijuana and end up at a bar. A few joints and about 7 beers later I pass out.' You want sobriety more than anything and you just wanted to say hi.
Hi. Keep coming back.
