day 12 cravings

day 12 and up until now its been pretty plain sailing.

i knew the cravings would come at some stage and today they arrived

its only 17.00 here but i think i will go to bed just to try and end this day

tomorrow will be better i know , if i just stay strong and get today out of the way

glad of this community to put my thoughts down and its comforting to know the people reading know where i am coming from .

Certainly do. The sunshine isn't helping either is it?

Today hasn't been easy for me either but I refuse to drink today.

Good idea on just ending the day early; it worked for me.

The thing about cravings is that they will pass. They may seem endless at times but in my case, I learned riding them out without acting on them is what made them lessen in both frequency and duration. Distracting myself from them, vocalizing them and also thinking of exactly what would happen if I did give in helped me too.

You can do this!

Sleep can be a wonderful thing. Especially with internet and smart phones. Think about it, you can shower up go to bed, and still be "connected" to the world. Less isolating.

Jacktryingagain, 12 days sober is FANTASTIC, congratulations. Your drinking side is getting pretty desperate about now and is gonna do every thing it can to trip you up. Not drinking today will make you that much more powerful tomorrow. Rootin for ya.
