Day 0

Drunk again, day 0, not even day 1. I'm gutted, I miss my girlfriend and my house. Wheels coming off, this is ridiculous, I'm tired of anxiety depression, low self esteem, messing up in social situations. At least I'm numb

Hello! The booze isn't the cure to those problems, just covering them up and making them worse. I'm sorry you are going through this, but you will find a ton of support here.

You can do this Stewy! Just try to think of things in small increments. Like, right now I'm not going to drink. Come up with a plan of something else to do. I.e., start a journal detailing your struggle and goals, go out for a walk, any type of activity that will keep you busy for the moment. I promise you that your perspective with your gf will seem clearer if you're sober. Give it a few days to focus on not drinking and tell yourself that you'll worry about your gf later. Small steps. And post on here if you have a craving. We are all here for you. I'm almost 3 weeks in, which I know is nothing compared to most others, but already my perspective on my life has changed drastically for the better.

This doesn't sound enjoyable for you. My heart goes out.

Feel terrible, I know I know I should post before drinking that's the whole point. I feel awful. Nothing is good about drinking

I think you really need to see your counselor again stewy. The obsession about your relationship is really taking its toll, as well as the drinking. You can do this, you've done it before. But you don't get unlimited chances to start over...please get some help.

Being numb doesn't last long and awakens you to a progressively more painful reality. This stops only when you do. Please get help.

Stewy . I agree about seeing your counselor again - is that a possibility? Drinking doesn't help us cope or resolve our problems - you already know this. I'm glad you're posting, though.

I wish you all the best Stewy. I agree with Scott that seeing a counsellor about your feelings might be a good idea.

Stewy, you can find a way through this tough time. As others have said, seeing a therapist could be very helpful. Sending you healing thoughts.
