Strange trigger
You know the months have been rolling along. Really don't have cravings anymore but the anxiety does get a little bad sometimes. Seems like my SR friends are always here for me though😀 I find it comical that if I have to, I can be in a restaurant with people drinking and things are ok.
Now you let me get on my lawn mower on a beautiful day like today and my AV grows some big muscles. It's the only thing left in ordinary day to day life that sets me off.
Weird how stupid that is when you think about it. Pretty sure I'm nuts😂
Need to hire somebody to cut the grass as part of my plan.
Lawn is mowed and I'm sober but still crazy!

You made it once, you can do it again.
I figure I drank for everything good, bad, and indifferent.
Now I don't.
Well done.
And hey, if you can afford a lawnboy, I would certainly do it! I bet a neighbor kid would love to make $20...er, whatever it's going for these days. I live in a condo.

There is this huge AA speaker meeting once a month where I'm from... I decided to volunteer in child care for the first time... and tonight I thought " oh my gawd I need a drink" lol. I had to chuckle to myself. We are almost to 9 months ! Great job in riding the craving out
I'm having a little chuckle, not because our AV's are funny but because lawn mowing in the beginning was a trigger for me. Early on I would drink after I mowed then I used to drink before mowing.
So nice to know I am not alone in this trigger...thank you!

Matt,
SR is a Godsend. Talking w other addicts online works to keep me sober.
I still get triggered doing projects in the backyard and garage. But, it got easier w each effort.
Reading about success and failure is as good as listening in a meeting...minus the discomfort of seeing emotional breakdowns...almost at every meeting.
In the short time i attened AA....I already sarted to desensitize. It was difficult determining what was a legit issue or a physiological mental issue..I am no expert.
Booze definitely brings out the crazy in us all. After a while, the crazy seems to just stay out. Not funny or fun.
Stay clean team.
Thanks.

While in my disease I hated yard work. Lately, I have been putting time into the yard daily. Breathing used to be a trigger for me. My AV now pops up on new activities. It comes across as, "when I was drinking would I have cut this activity short to go booze?" The answer is always yes.
I'm glad you got through Matt.
we can create new associations.
Clear winter days were always about sitting at my favorite pub, overlooking the ocean and drinking and smoking....
The pub is gone and I no longer drink or smoke...but still love those winter days...looking forward to them again this year.
