Making Progress
Its been a rough few days but I woke up this morning with hope . I sat down and made a plan for my recovery. The Dr has called and will be seeing me next week. This is the first available appt she has. I am through the withdrawal period but I would like to speak with her about any damage I may have done to my body. I have called a psychologist to see if he is taking new patients. I also called a marriage therapist to see if she is taking on any new "marriages".
This past year has been quite the episode and I am ready to turn the page and really conquer my problems. I have a lot to tackle. First thing to tackle is abstinence from alcohol. Im not taking everything on at once but Ive been here before and I know the steps into a better future. My recovery plan thus far:
Daily Journal
Gratitude List
Individual Therapy
Marriage Counseling
Proper Nutrition
Recovery Support ( therapy and groups)
Call List
Exercise
Trigger Identification
Dream Board
These are the initial steps and I will include more as time moves on.
Everything will get better one day at a time.
Thats it!

Quite a laudable list! What's a dream board?
I like your title = Making progress.
I had to measure things in small bites and not get too far out in front of my ski's
After all, there were quite a few issues. I gauge progress ultimately by going to bed sober. If I fall short of my plan, I had to learn not to be too harsh on myself.
Medical care including mental health is right there with don't drink today, as you're aware.
Good job

That is a great list. Do it all in digestible chunks. Do you go to meetings? I must admit I do not follow AA as a zealot. BUT the connection to other non me people helps me get out of my headspace. My list is very close to yours. I do not hope or expect anything in my life to get better unless I make informed, recorded decisions- reinforced with support, guidance and daily behavioural changes. I do the dream stuff, to a certain extent.
I am very careful not to read too much into dreams. The sub-c is trying to have a quiet conversation with my memories, and I just happen to overhear them sometimes.

Great list, Mizz.
Good to hear that you are feeling more hopeful.
Remember to be patient with yourself; recovery is a journey - enjoy the scenery along the way; be kind and good to yourself.
