Fresh start!
Okay, so today is my day 1. I'm 27 and want to get healthy/lose weight for my 28th birthday in September (deadlines help me!). Also, I want to challenge myself to give up alcohol for 30 days (or more, who knows). I drink 4 days a week (mostly out of habit now and on weekends) and have been on this path for more than 1 year. I have noticed that I get cravings for alcohol which concerns me. I am on a weight loss journey and find that alcohol IS NOT helping. I find me telling myself " I am not gonna drink", and I end up drinking. Then, telling myself "dangitt, that was soo many empty calories! No more!".
Any helpful hints and tips would be appreciated.. I will check back in to keep myself accountable

Welcome LawLady! Sounds like you've made some good plans there taking care of your health and drinking less or stopping completely is always a good decision. I found the most amazing support here and I'm sure you will, too!
Welcome! If you have concerns about drinking too much, too often and having cravings, then the solution is to stop drinking. I'm glad you've decided to begin to live a healthier life. I hope that you keep reading and posting.

Best of luck on your 30 days. I don;t know you of course but I kinda hope you might want to extend that deadline when you get there - living sober has been fantastic for me and many others here
