Yes, you can do it. I think you want to quit or you wouldn't be here.

How about going to bed right now and start fresh tomorrow. Come here and post before you drink.

You're posting because you haven't given up on hopes for a better life. I had a few false starts - but here I am at 9 yrs. sober. It can - and does - happen. SoberNunn, we are still with you and always will be.

Hey sobernunn,

So many times I tried and failed. I never gave up and you shouldn't either. You can have sobriety you just need to keep improving your plan. Please?

I know I couldn't do it on my own but then I found AA went to a ton of meetings, got a sponsor, and worked the steps and that was a few 24 hours ago

YOU GOT THIS! Day by day. I am still big on list making...all the cons...whatever pros you come up with...I am sure the cons will will not. Read it when you want to drink. Plus I make a list of what I am planning on doing. Staying busy is the key. BUT I think being lazy can play in as well. My first day I sat catatonic in front of the tv downing bottles of water. You just have to find what works for you!

What are your thoughts about going to the ER to detox?

If you can log on and type, you can quit. Go to AA and knock this stuff off.

You must not give up because alcoholism is a relentless disease. There is lots of support here and know for sure that you can do this.

Hi SoberNunn

I fought to get sober for 15 years or so. I got knocked down a lot but I never gave up hope...there was always a littler glowing ember there...

The bottom line is we can help you all you want, but you need to create the changes and start the action

Next time you feel like drinking, why not post here instead? Let us keep you company and help you keep yourself sober.

It may not make you feel too much better at the time,..but the next morning you'll be so glad you stayed sober.

Keep fanning that little ember

D

You absolutely can do this. The fact that you posted today tells me that you want sobriety. There are so many supports available, maybe you need something more than just this forum.

Please continue to post and work on your sobriety, I promise it is worth it!!!

Hi Sobernunn, you CAN do it. You just have to decide to. Thats the first thing. Then you take the next step, then the next. It wont always be easy, but it will be acievable. You wont regret it.
