New to sr
Welcome to SR Harryho!
Don't despair, most of us on SR have been in your shoes. Have a good read through some of the advice threads including those that give advice on drawing up a recovery plan. You can do it.
You have come to a really good place for help and support. You may also want to check out the Class of March 2017 which is also in the Newcomers Thread.
Good luck

Maybe try everything together? Have you attempted that yet?
I did a combo like recovery plan - inpatient rehab, therapy, art, exercise, reading, posting and reading here daily, multiple times daily in fact, journaling, gratitude list each day.... 119 days for me and before November last year I felt hopeless and could not string 2 days sober together.

Hi, Harryho! SR has a lot of resources and information to help you quit drinking if you use them. Keep at it until you find something that works for ya, be persistent. Life and death matter here.
Very glad to meet you, Harry. Being here and sharing thoughts with those who understand made all the difference to me. I found the courage to stop after 30 yrs. You can too. Welcome!
Welcome to the family Harry! I used to feel hopeless too but I kept trying and now have over 7 yrs. It can be done but it takes some effort and making changes. Use SR for support.
Hi and welcome Harry
This place really made a difference for me - I hope we can help you make a difference for yourself too
when you say everything, whats some of the things you've tried?

We all care because we've all been there. Congratulations on your 13 days, that is a great start. Keep it going.
Hi Harry and welcome to the SR family!
You're in a good place here. Awesome, awesome job on day 13. Those first couple weeks for me, were always tough. It will get better!
Ditto what thomas said. Not here to judge and we do care and support everyone here because we all end up here for a reason; we are struggling and we want to find a different way, or a solution. A light at the end of the tunnel.
Coming here, reaching out and 13 days under your belt is a great start.

Hope. It's funny how we toss that word around without really appreciating the full meaning. We hope this or hope that, but I wonder, is hope the true lynch pin that is missing in my addled brain? What is left when we have no hope, as in "no hope in hell...." ? Or is feeling "hopeless" the ultimate excuse to fry my brain? God, what am I thinking on day 14. Thanks Hevyn.
