8 months sober
Hi, figured I would join and see how this all works. I'm a little over 8 months sober from alcohol. Work and home life are going great. I guess I'm tempted sometimes to have a glass of wine. I do have really awful dreams about being completely wasted and not being able to sober up, I wake up in a complete panic and feel guilty.

Good choice. and well done.
Don't worry overly much about the house clearing going on in your mind. Let it happen. It might be a bit noisy and chaotic at times but you'll be fine. Don't pick up.

Hi Emmylinn, welcome and a huge congratulations on 8 months sober, that is a huge achievement. The drinking dreams are so traumatic, aren't they? But thankfully they are just dreams. It does feel so relieving when you fully wake up and realise it was only a dream and you are still clean.
We are glad to have you here, you can share here and know that you will be totally supported and understood. I bet also that you have a lot of advice and wisdom to share to anyone still struggling. I look forward to seeing you around.

Congrats on 8 months emmylinn
I always say to folks don't confuse abstinence for control like I did - that mythical one glass of wine is a fantasy anyway - I never had just one...
You will find a ton of help and advice here - welcome aboard

Welcome! Glad you are here.
I know I've had a few dreams and it has been a shock waking up- thank Goodness they were not real!! Mine are rare anymore (I am just past one year).
What have you been doing to have such good success?

That is why this place is so helpful for me. Everyone here is or has gone through what you are, so there is a level of understanding that friends and family don't have.

Wow Emmy, what an achievement! I hope down the line that I can post that I have gone 8 months!
I used to wait tables (long time ago) and my recent dreams are that I am working and people are ordering wine, but I can't find the wine. Long periods of time is going by and I am in some wine cellar or whatever, never making it back to the table. Nobody gets wine. I wake up in a panic and realize it was just a dream. Strange
