Day 2

Already better than day 1. Had a 12 hour panic attack yesterday, w/d like crazy. Still some anxiety today and overwhelming since of thinking I'm going to die soon. Well lets see how this goes....

Sc0ot,

You're already 48 hours in. Well done! That's a great achievement.

Typically, depending on how heavy the intake was, by about day 4 / 5 the worst is over.

If you're in any doubt, please see your doctor.

Keep up the great work and drink LOTS of water, even if you're not thirsty.

It gets better, I promise.

Strength to you,

Bruce.

sc0ot3r2017,
Thinking of you. You can do this. I second BruceSA's suggestion. See a doctor if things feel off. You should start feeling better soon. And again, what Bruce said, lots of water.
WE DO THIS TOGETHER - you're not alone.

One other thing....

[QUOTE=Sc0ot3r2017;6352039]Already better than day 1. /QUOTE]

What would you rather have: 48 hours of drinking or 48 hours of healing and recovery?

What are the consequences of both?

Misery and sickness and despair or the beginning of a wonderful clear-headed, healthy journey.

I know which one I'd chose. Every time.

Go for it and don't give up,
B.

Be sure to write this down in a notebook of your feeling so you know what will happen again.

I'm glad you're getting through this. Don't hesitate to get medical help if you feel you need it.

not my first time thru it and not the worse w/d I've been through. I've been trying to get a handle on this for about 4 years now. Longest sober point was 4 months. I've PTSD and anxiety/panic disorder. I do go to counsel, I take ativan for it, but for so long i used alcohol to get rid of the anxiety and it's finally caught up to me. Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I do know when I need to go the hospital. I've had a few panic attacks that put me there for a few days at a time. But I'm finally tired of it and everything it comes with! It's time to be there for my kids and for my wife and for myself!
