Too scared to go shopping

I'm paralysed with fear at the thought of going to the shops as the bottle shop is right next door to groceries. First time I've ventured out since getting sober. Terrified the vacuum pull in there will get me.

I can't this time. I need the discount store. I did that last time but don't have the money this time.

Call a friend to go with you or take a cab that can drop you off at a grocery with no bottle shop perhaps?

Hey sweet chick,
If you are that worried about it I agree with the others. Don't go. Can someone go for you?

That kind of stuff gets easier with time but don't do it until "you" feel ready

I understand feeling that way but really you can go get it whenever you want. You've prepared yourself and are aware you may be tempted. Use that to your advantage.

You can do it.
The bottles aren't going to jump into your basket by themselves.
Don't go down the booze aisle. Have a list of what you're going to buy. Get in and get out. I did it that way and so can you.

I hope that you can find a different store to go to or have a delivery. Most stores will do that.

Well then, might be best not to go just now.
I avoided many places in early sobriety.
Nothing wrong with that because,
our sobriety should always come first.

Managed to do it. Just got in and out fast. I am still having trouble walking so just kept telling myself it would only get worse if I drank. Plus I rang a friend before I went to check in that I didn't go buy wine. Thanks for all the great support guys it means a lot.
