Trying to get day one today

I am back and trying for another day one. I have been drinking really heavy and I look like crap and feel awful.

So here it goes. Noon here. I have a long ways to go to get through this day.

Welcome back! The link above is a good one. You should also think about joining the February 2017 class and also check in on the 24 hour thread.

What is your plan to stay sober today?

I saw your post in my thread, I also have followed your story a bit. I hope you find the strength to quit. It may save your life. I had to muster every bit of strength I had. In a years time I overcame two broken legs, an opiate addiction (from the broken legs) and alcohol. It can be done. And its worth it.

Those first few days are an absolute nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. The important thing is that you keep trying. Like the saying goes, failure is not an option. It takes hard work, patience and a lot of determination to reach any goal. Try to relax and find any distractions that gets you through the day. Sometimes I'll watch one movie after another or go on youtube to occupy my time. Drink lots of water. Get some sleep if you can. Kind of like taking a mimi-vacation from life. Hope everything works out for you. John

I have made it to 4:30 pm and this is the time I usually start to drink. No alcohol in the house and I am feeling like I am going to make it thru today.
Thanks to you all for the support and wisdom.

I'm happy you got through the day, sixstring. Drinking is only bringing you misery. Life will be so much better without it.

It is 8 pm and no alcohol. I have been watching movies and drinking lots of water. I feel pretty sure I will make it thru today.
Many thanks for the support. See you tomorrow.

Good morning to you all.
I made it through day one pretty well. I did not sleep great last night and I have a huge headache. But I have a day sober and I am happy to have that small milestone.
Today is going to be a lot like yesterday. Rest, binge on movies, drink lots of water and not drink.
Wishing you all the best today in this journey we are on.

Well done asixstringnut ! These days are physically the toughest. But you only have to go through them once.

Does your name suggest you play guitar?

Michael.
Thanks for the encouragement. My head is killing me and my body is wiped out.
Yes I am a player and a collector. Do you play?

Day three. Wow I am exhausted. Headaches, sleeping all the time, feeling confused.
I hope I start to feel a little better tomorrow.
Was tempted to drink yesterday afternoon. No alcohol in the house and I would not let myself go to the store.
Going to go lay down and sleep some more I think. Can't drink if you are sleeping.
