Chats

Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone has used the chat feature here, or has suggestions for other online chats for those of us struggling with the addiction of a loved one. I looked at the one here, but there never seems to be anyone on there. I also looked into online al anon meetings and had mixed results. I am just inquiring because I find there are times recently when I need to just connect/talk with someone as I find myself having trouble keeping it together. Thanks for any ideas you may have.

I'd be happy to lend an ear on here, or if some of us want to make a group chat on facebook, I'm down for that. I know the struggle of not feeling heard.

We have an excellent Chatroom. You're welcome to use it anytime.

It's open 24/7.

Thank you. Maybe I am going to the wrong place, but there has not been anyone on the chat when I have gone in. Would enjoy chatting here as I have always found this group to be honest and supportive.

Chatroom Meetings

I noticed the same thing, but was invited by one of the few visitors I chatted with to a regularly scheduled chatroom meeting. They're there if you look into it a little further.

jj, I have never used the chat function here but a quick search of the forum turned up this section: Chat Meetings and Chat Discussions - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Does that help you at all?

I don't use the live chatroom, myself. I have to chat online all day with colleagues, and I don't like chatting that way on my personal time.

I prefer the forums, where it's easier to get into detail about whatever you want to talk about, and there aren't numerous other conversations going on at once.

Al-Anon meetings are a great place to get personal support--especially when you go early or stay late to have one-on-one conversations.

All members have the option to start their own password protected room.

You can invite one person or a group of people.

Your choice.

We have meetings every Tuesday and Friday, 9PM EST.

Everyone is welcome.
