Question Dreams of Drinking night of day 6

So today is day 6.... Last night I had the most vivid, realistic dreams that I was with an ex boyfriend getting completely wasted. Then I dreamt that I woke up feeling hung over and terrified I had done something stupid. Then I woke up in Reality, and it took me several moments to realize it was just a dream and I wasn't really hungover. I did have a massive freaking headache. What a weird night.

for me the stupid part is

not going to meetings
not being of service to others
not asking God for help

these choices will lead to a drink/ drunk

for me to drink is to die

Well I may replace a few of those with other things, but yes starting with doing things to help me not drink in the first place is a good place to start. After the cycle has repeated it is sure hard to break out of it/keep from going down the rabbit hole. Thank you January.

Drinking dreams like that are very common, so you're not alone Marie

In my experience if I have an intense dream then within 2-3 days I experience something related in waking life. I explain it as the subconscious rising towards consciousness. A feeling or sensation having come loose and is rising up into awareness and first showing itself as a dream construct. Being aware of this helps to allow it to be there, felt rather than pushed back in or smothered by, in my case, booze. Keep living life with awareness. By remaining equanimous and aware, while getting on with life, whatever the underlying 'force' is reveals its self and can pass away.
