Drinking is a waste of precious time.

Found out recently a family member is dying of cancer and I feel like a horrible person because for the past 8 years I've been drinking heavy, mostly alone and ignoring family.

I will be there for this family member until the cancer takes them ... but where have I been the past 8 years when they were perfectly healthy?

Drinking ..

Selfish and a waste of time .. we can't let it get another second.

There's nothing I can do about the 20 years I was lost to drink...but there's a lot I can do with each and every day now.

Be there for your relative.

I've had a close friend die from cancer.

Bottom line - they need your love, support and good thoughts now, not your self pity.

Very true. Alcohol steals so much from us, and time is right up there on the list.

So very true. Alcohol does steal our time. I've wasted so much time isolating to drink. Its not worth it. Thank you for this post. Definitely puts life and living in a good perspective.
