Finally!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to check in. I am finally feeling a bit better!! Seriously it has just been rough since I stopped drinking. Mind you I did have a series of virus's that kept me under the weather. But for the first month I felt like I could sleep the whole day and had a headache that would not let up. Then, a few days ago I felt clear and strong. It feels really good to be off that horrible cycle. It's so nice to not hide from other people as well. I was always hiding from people when I was drunk/and or hungover. I still have considerable anxiety but I find that is a natural state for me. Oh and I have lost 5 pounds with little effort. My face isn't puffy and red either. I am doing this for me but also for my son. I grew up with drunk parents. I never want him to feel unsafe in his own home. I know this is still very earlier sobriety yet, but the last few days have been good.

It's good to hear that. I expected to wake up on day 2 feeling great from not having drank yesterday, but I feel rotten. Nice to hear it gets better! I'm going back to bed. Enjoy your day!

Sounds like you are on the Sober Road there.
Stay strong -- keep doing it.

Thank you everyone for your responses! It made my day. I was out at a superbowl party tonight and everyone was drinking. Was a bit difficult but I soon got over it and played hide go seek with the kids for a while.
