Day 3 - new routines
For day 1 and 2, I changed up my normal routine. Day 1 I went to the gym after work (1st time since I joined in November) then to a meeting.
Day 2 I worked an hour late then went to a 6:00 meeting. Afterwards I went to the gym. I only did 20 minutes each day on the treadmill, but I can feel it in my legs and hips.
Day 3 (today) I texted an AA lady last night to commit to going to a meeting at 8:00 tonight. So after work, I will go to the gym then home to do laundry before the meeting.
Tonight will be a first for me in a very long time. I will be leaving my house and will be sober at 7:45 pm.
Today my focus will be on practicing some relaxing breathing techniques when the anxiety hits. I won't take any of the Ativan today. (Only took 1 1/2 mg yesterday and 3 mg day 1)
One day at a time.

A pattern that helped me to stay sober.

Great job! And you started pretty active stuff right away (I didn't- I was so so sick- you are fortunate that you can! Stick with it).
Establishing totally new routines- especially around my recovery work- has been critical to me. Now, I look forward to my 6 morning "to dos" for recovery and have a meeting pattern where my sweet spot is 4-6 a week. All around a busy life.
Keep going! We're here. You can do this.

Great Job Sinderos.. I have started the meetings too. Need that support and I am glad that you started the gym. I am on my day 4 and still feel week and have anxiety. I guess I will try to do some treadmill today to help it.
Good for you Sinderos! I'm glad you met some people to talk with at your AA meetings. I always kept to myself, so I didn't get much out of it.
And great job on day 4 AbOriginal! Food and rest will make that weakness go away soon.

Good job Sinderos. I am a big fan of setting a new normal. Brand new routines that you follow daily so they become normal. Eventually (believe it or not) you won't be obsessing over not drinking, and its a great feeling.
very inspirational
and soon you can get a service commitment at the meeting like coffee maker ......
the most important job in AA !!!
service has been the #1 contributor to my intact sobriety date
awesome job!
