Illness, colds etc...
I've been sober over a year now and one thing I've noticed is that I get colds/sick more often. In fact I'm with my 2nd one this winter right now and its irritating as hell. When drinking I very rarely got sick or got colds. My theory is that I killed a lot of bugs with all of the alcohol running through my system (I'm being kind of serious about that). Anyone else notice this?
Who knows, maybe I felt so horrible all the time before I never noticed if I got sick. haha.

It's probably just going around. Drink water, take vitamin c and zinc, get enough sleep, use hand sanitizer, avoid touching your eyes and nose, not too late to get your flu shot.
I had the opposite this year I haven't been as sick as I was last year.

I have actually been sick less - cold, flu etc. In my case maybe some of that was smoking, which I'm close to two years sans butts. Less hand to mouth contact, likely.
I find that I also use hand sanitizer a lot as well and in general my hygine is much improved overall. Maybe these simple things help or maybe it's because I don't hang out in seedy places with the usual suspects anymore.......

Well, I've had two bouts with severe bronchitis in my sober year+ and I can't remember going through that since I was a kid. It may be that with all the additional stresses in my life right now I'm just lucky I had bronchitis and not a heart attack...or maybe quitting alcohol is a shock to the system, even if it's eventually much healthier (my blood pressure is down 10 points, even with the major stress).
Or maybe not everything in my life is related to alcohol or lack thereof?
Dunno. Not going to risk drinking again to test the theory, though!
