Which sport do you enjoy participating in, with your new found sobriety?
Could be a sport you always played, but maybe picked it up again?
Im back into: soccer/futsal, hockey, and running.

I've always been an endurance runner, but when I was actively drinking, I either ran far below my potential or lost the motivation to do it at all.
Happy to be back out there and killin' it on the trails.

I started boxing when I was about 7 months sober. It's one of my many "sobriety wins".
I believe it has a lot to do with my newly discovery confidence which sobriety brought me and learning more about myself.

I've been weight training since I first got sober in my early 20's, but inconsistently. About 7 years ago I got serious about it and got into my best shape ever but it wasn't long after that that I relapsed. I still kept it up, sometimes sporadically; with the drinking my motivation slipped more and more and I gained most of my weight back and lost a lot of strength.
I've been back into it again the past few months and am determined to break some of my old personal bests on lifts (and with all that inconsistency, they're not that big). This time I've decided to place the majority of my focus/challenge on how much weight I can lift rather than how much I weigh. That's already made it more fun for me.
And sometimes for cardio and a great creative outlet, I crank up the music real loud and dance my heart out since I'm in my basement and no one's watching.

Running. I am 11 mo sober today and I started back in May and did my first race- a one mile!- series in Jun/Jul/Aug. My boyfriend and I did a 5K for his birthday in Dec and have decided to do one each month this year - we just did the Jan one this morning! It was great. I am planning for us to fit a 10K in by the end of the year.
I have a very active job- I work in a restaurant with an upstairs patio- so I don't run a lot around this and the monthly races, but will be increasing it starting this week!
Feels great to be up before 6am on a weekend day- to go do something good for us!!

Id like to get back into basic working out.
It's good to see alcoholics getting active. At AA meetings here where I live, 90% of the alcoholics look like they haven't been active in 20 years. A lot of out of shape smokers. It irritates me, they pretty much wear it like a badge of honor.

Trail running when it's not freezing. Bag work and tires. When I get the space gonna get an iron pile again. Would love to have my bench back in the 400s. Gonna be allot of work for that... Would love to get into jiu jitsu or somefhing similer but have zero background in it need to research it better.
