75 days sober

Hey everyone I'm ToniAnn and my husband is an alcoholic he has been sober for 75 days today and even though I never considered myself and alcoholic I did like to have a drink every now and again and for the support and love of my husband I to have been sober for 75 days! I must say that it really does feel great to wake up every morning and not be hungover. Our relationship is growing more and more with everyday we stay sober and our children are so much happier also. Now the only issue we are having is that we have cut the majority of our friends off or they have cut us off because of either things that happened when we were drinking or because now we aren't drinking. Anyone from the raleigh nc area? Anyone have any suggestions on a good place to meet some new people to hang out with that are sober?

Welcome to the family. I don't know if you're interested, but AA meetings are a good place to meet sober people. Also, joining local groups for hiking, museums, art, animals, all kinds of topics of interest.

You can google "sober things to do in raleigh nc" and see what comes up.

It helps so so much when a partner joins you in sobriety, & I think it makes it way more successful! We're not supposed to ask, but it sounds like you joined him enthusiastically & have now seen benefits for yourself. How fun to build a new life together. Good on you!

Hi and welcome ToniandScott

When I quit a lot of drinking buddies left my life - the only connection we had was drinking.

I reconnected with a lot of old friends I had before my drinking got too bad, and I made new ones through shared interests hobbies, sport, work...

you'll find a lot of support and good ideas here

D

Try meetup.com for people who share your interests. Hiking, biking, all sorts of people for whatever your interests.
