Ive used chat room in the past, but this time it seems there is never anyone in there. It took a few tries to get java do download and even let me in, so I'm not sure if it's segregating me to be by myself, or what's going on?

I don't know. I never chat. I don't usually have time but, I see people on there. Maybe someone knows more than I do. Sorry about that.
I just tried. The room was empty. Still don't have a clue.

The chat a number of years ago was usually busy. It helped me a lot when 'riding the wave' many times. There were a couple people in there last night that helped me a lot. I got through a heavy wave just chatting away. I'm not sure why it's not as busy. It's nice just to talk to someone when no one else is around. Plus, they understand and are supportive. I hope it picks up. I'll hang out in there as much as I can when I'm on here.

We have meetings on Tuesday and Friday, 9pm EST. You're welcome to join us Elliemae. The meetings give you a chance to make friends and perhaps find a chatting partner.

I can never predict when someone will be in chat. It's best to grab a friend or post (like you did) for someone to join you. I suspect members pick times when they're free, unfortunately it doesn't always coincide with another members free time.

There are official meetings on tuesday and friday nights, otherwise it's hit or miss with people being in there outside of that.

Thanks all, yes when I was on here before there were always people in there. I meant to go to the meeting last night, and fell asleep. It's been a rough couple of days....Feeling a little more myself today. Hope this continues.....

Is "chat" actual real-time verbal talk as if on a telephone?

Chat is real time with typed responses back and forth.

columbus, you may be confusing our Chat room with Skype ?
