Need Help Today
Hi SR and Happy New Years! I am back here about two or so years after accepting I am an alcoholic. I have been drinking daily again, and am generally pretty miserable.
I have a plan today, and unfortunately it doesn't involve AA, but I plan to get to a meeting tomorrow AM.
My plan is to, not drink, eat well, get some moderate exercise, and find a new psychiatrist and counselor. This sounds like I am making excuses, but the drive to the current psychiatrist/counselor is too much on top of my current commute.
Ok I think I am starting to ramble, so I will end here. Please help me today SR. Please help me help myself. I am turning 40 this year and cant do this any more. I don't want to die.

Welcome back. The only person who will now if you're making excuses is you. Its that 'willing to go to any lengths' thing. I know, for sure, I'm not always willing. But I am making progress. If you feel you need more help today, go to an AA meeting closer to work, then make the commute home. Hang in there.
Glad you found us. So you stayed sober today...that is great! Let's get a good nights rest and add another sober day tomorrow! That's how we begin to collect those milestones! Stay strong!
