Day 1
Well that's me day 1 of not drinking. I thought an alcoholic was someone who needed a drink first thing in the morning how wrong was I. I am a bing drinker and my binges were every 3 months that would last a couple of days / 48 hours drinking sessions. Now my sessions are every 3 weeks. I upset those around me and I know now I have a problem. Well I need to stop this as I am a nice quiet girl when sober. Why do I like the being a obnoxious mouthy idiot??
Hi S. Sorry- cannot answer that one. I drank to heighten any emotion- good or bad. To make the effects of rewards or punishments last longer. Either way- for me not good. Welcome- keep posting- lots of very good info through out the threads.
welcome aboard sjofftherocks
When I stopped drinking I got the old me back - the real me - a me I'd almost forgotten about.
It's a pretty big transition - to not drink anymore- but it really is worthwhile.
This place helped me turn my life around - I know we can help you too

That low esteem makes it easier for us to drink again. Try your best to resist those kind of thoughts - they go nowhere.
Focus on the fact you're leaving an old life behind and embracing an exciting new one

Thanks Bb. I've got. O idea what I have signed up for then. I think it was therapy for alcoholics- I thought that was AA tbh. There is a meeting tonight's at 20:30 but it lasts for an hour in a half. That is a bit long for me as I don't like leaving my dogs for long in the evening.
