Hi Everybody
This is the first time that I watched this movie and I wasn't drinking myself.
I never noticed how much drinking goes on in this movie.
Drinking to celebrate and drinking when things aren't going well.
The old pharmacist drunk and putting in the wrong medication into patients bottles,it was hard to watch when he was hitting George.
Its funny what you notice when your sober.

I know! Hollywood and commercialism make drinking and being an alcoholic into something glamourous but they don't show the shame side at all. Usually drunks in movies display no shame or embarrassment

I noticed that, too. If seen for a million times, as I've watched it, it is really noir.
