''Twas two nights before christmas

And ...

I'm not figuring out how much to buy until the shops open again after the holiday closures.

I'm drinking tea and not wine on the train home to see family.

I'm not googling "after hours liquor delivery" at 4am while eyeing the mouth wash wondering if it'll stave off the withdrawals...

I'm not hiding booze in my suitcase to drink in my bedroom alone at commercials during the Sound of Music.

What can you add??

I enjoyed church for the first time in years last night. Peaceful and calm.

I get to spend Christmas with my precious - also sober- boyfriend, and we would not have each other as our former selves!

I'm not with my family, and everyone is on the same understanding page about where I am in sobriety and my decision to celebrate differently than being with them. And talking on the phone last night was sober and great!

Merry merry to all!

Struck a cord, I forgot I did that too.

'Twas the night before Christmas and I'm up early, feeling great, helping my wife get things ready. (Soon as I'm done posting on SR).

Not having to worry about what time I need to stop drinking today, so I can sober up for tonight's dinner party.

No hangover this morning.

Being fully present for any activity, conversation, meal, movie, etc.

I will be able to look at myself in the mirror in the morning and not feel ashamed, exasperated or worried about what I did or said.
