Stop it, already!!!
Stop it, already!!!
By STARTING something new, instead.
All of us have been there. Caught in this cycle. "I want to stop, I have to stop, this has GOT to be the last time".
But unless we actually START something else...... we are doomed to stay on repeat.
It's an infinite loop.
Addiction is HABIT.
Addiction is COMFORT with the known.
Addiction is ROUTINE.
Addiction is AUTO-PILOT.
There is no way to just STOP.
UNLESS WE ARE PREPARED TO START.
For years I tried the approach of STOPPING. Or of LIMITING. Or of TOMORROW.
Until I woke up and STARTED doing something different, TODAY..... I repeated the cycle.
So, stop telling yourself all about how badly you need to STOP.
And instead, try engaging yourself in an exciting discussion of the things you will START!!!!
All you have to do is focus on STARTING things that will support sobriety, instead of things that will encourage addiction.
STOP STOPPING.
START STARTING.
You've got this.
