Hello everyone
So I Googled "I am an idiot when I drink" and I ended up here. The first post I read was from someone who also was an idiot when they drank, but who no longer drinks. So I figured this is the place for me. It's another hungover Friday and I'm huddled at my desk at work hoping for this day to pass quickly. I've done several mental rundowns of what I did last night, and while it included staying up until 3am and sneaking outside (in sub-zero temps) for cigarettes, I didn't hurt anyone. (Yet.) I've quit drinking in the past (for more than a year), but I slid back into it in recent months and now have realized (again) that I cannot drink. I simply can't. I'm either sober, or I'm binging. There doesn't seem to be any in-between for me. I'm sad about it, but I'm also tired of wishing hungover days away and feeling like a bad person/wife/mom. So here I go... back on the wagon. And hello Morning Glory -- thank you so much for the welcome message.

Welcome to SR itstime, no shortage of wonderful genuine support here. If you've had extended sober time in the past, you know the drill. You know how much better things are. Glad to hear you want to get back on track.
Welcome to SR itstime. Yes, you will find a lot of us here are also idiots when we drink
Reading that you had a year sober in the past indicates that you already know what you need to do.
